Here's something we've had underneath our deck for about two years (just keepin' it real!)
Tiki torches!
I took the canisters out of three black ones that look like a wire tube on top of a stick. Seriously... how does stuff like this not get used for two years??!! (Please tell me that you have stuff like this at your house, too!)
I took a good look at these and thought, What would Diane do?
I mean, for Heaven's sake, this lady made a lantern out of a tuna can!
So... I decided to do something with the three tiki torch frames. The "tube" that holds the canister is not that big.
I immediately thought of the prayer candles at the Dollar Tree. They seemed like they would be the perfect size and cheap, too!
I thought about wrapping the candles in burlap. I love this one, especially with the number on it.
I took the easy way out and wrapped the tops only with thick twine.(You'll see at the end of this post why I wanted a quickie solution!)
Then I spray painted the tiki torch frames with black gloss spray paint. What a difference!
Here's the finished product. What do you think?

They look GREAT!!! I bought the book today, but I'm going to save it for the beach!!!
Great idea and they won't smell like the tiki torches do! I have that book on my "to read" list. Thanks for sharing.

I think you are a genius! So cute for summer evening get togethers! And yes, I have stuff that hangs around for years and years! I could be a borderline hoarder...Nah! That can't be it LOL! Thanks so much for linking this up at the party this week! I can't wait to see what you share next week ♥
You've got lots of cute stuff on your blog, Nif. I love your trash to treasure. I have those same candles from the dollar tree and I don't know why I didn't think to wrap some twine around mine. I've done that with other things. Glad I saw your post. I'm off to check out some more!

Great stuff, it's amazing what you can find in other people's cast offs.
