One of my favorite quotes is by William Arthur Ward. He said,
“The pessimist complains about the wind;
the optimist expects it to change;
the realist adjusts the sails.”
And YES, there are times when I find myself seeing the glass as half-empty. I try not to stay in that state for very long, because I believe that positive thinking will lead to positive results. ….
Here are some strategies I use to get me back to thinking positively; I hope they will help you, too.
1. Surround yourself with positive
people. We're influenced by the 5 people we
spend the most time with. Who are those people in your life?
2. Use affirmations daily. Affirmations are positive
statements that resonate with a person’s reality as well as points to a future
desired state-of-being. The statements are written and spoken throughout the
day.3. Read. Find inspirational books or blogs and let it “take you away” and escape to a place where you can empty your mind of negative thoughts and fill it with positive ones.
4. Set daily goals. Setting goals, deciding on how to achieve them, then going about the necessary steps to achieve them provide self-confidence for completing the tasks you create.
5. Unplug and recharge. Your body needs sleep each night to recover, heal, and grow. Your mind and emotions need the same opportunity to recharge. If you are constantly pushing yourself without stopping to reflect or rest, you will not be able to restore your energy to a needed supply.
Are you a glass half-full or a glass half-empty kind of person? Are you raising your kids to be half-full or half-empty? What do you do to keep your positive energy up?

I think I'm a pretty glass-half-full kinda person. I'm happy with my life..... I think I'm pretty positive. I can go into that dark, glass-half-empty place, too..... but I try hard to get out as quickly as I can by challenging my mind to find a happy place. Does any of that even remotely make sense? If it doesn't my excuse is it's summer!
Great post! It's always good to approach life with an attitude of gratitude as well! Have a lovely week! Angie xo
