Confession time.
I once had a boss I didn't like.
Not because I was criticized by this boss. I'm an athlete. I've been coached, criticized, pushed my whole life.
What I really disliked was that this boss would criticize me for stuff that I had always been praised for. (Just giving it to you in a nutshell... believe me, I could go on and on.)
Anywho... I was once criticized because boss said that I worked better with a deadline. Boss said, "When people are really passionate about things and are team players, they do what needs to be done early and without deadlines."
Hmmmmm.....
Me, the "rule-follower, pleaser, want-to-do-it-right-not-wrong" person that I am started to doubt. Myself, that is.
(Looking back on it, now several years later, the coach in me yells, "Hogan! What were you thinking?!!?")
What I should have done is let it roll off my back. Shoulda. Coulda. Woulda.
What does all this have to do with getting it all done? There's a point. I promise.
Ask my friends. I get a lot done. Not that I don't feel overwhelmed sometimes. Or choose to drop some balls. But I'm a good multi-tasker, and at the end of the day, I get it done.
My secret is in my prioritizing. And by meeting deadlines. On the deadlines.
What I mean is, I know just how much time I have to get something done, and by using ALL of my time, I fill it up.
So... do you meet deadlines or do it earlier? What's your secret?

Unless I'm given a specific time, I figure turning in an article at 11:59 p.m. on the date it's due is soon enough. So yeah, I meet deadlines. Just not before I have to. :)
Need to post about this on my blog but here's my take on it. God gave me the ability to do ONE thing really well for hours and hours, to the exclusion of all else. I have many talents but getting a lot accomplished in a short amount of time is not one of my gifts. My husband can, but it takes all of my energy to get it done, never mind getting it done well (or even on time). Now, I thank God every day He made me so creative, bc I can always work harder on the organization and time management but creativity is much harder to learn along the way.
First off, I love your favicon.... super cute. Maybe mine should say "SUE".... because I admire all you do and get it all done. Now, I don't know if I do get it all done. I took down my Christmas decor on Dec 27th and I still have a pile of things to put away on my dining room table that every time I walk passed I think, "Sue, you should put that away" but I haven't. Just an example of what a slacker I really am.
Oh, and I'm such a procrastinator..... I wait to the last minute ALL THE TIME!
